We all go through hard and tough times in our lives. In these
situations we often tend to ask “why me?”or “is this really happening to
me?”or “I wish this was just a dream ”, but the truth is you can’t change the
past or its consequences but what you can do change is your next action. Many at
times we wonder and even question God why He allows such situations in our
lives. It is true that it is hard to go
through such situations. You can’t
always ask the question ‘why’ to God cause you just won’t get any answer. The
truth is, it’s not about what we go through but about what we become through
the chaos and struggle. Let me explain what I truly mean by saying this. Let me
take the example of moses and the Israelites coming out of Egypt.
Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt. Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt. Exodus 13:17-18
If we see in this passage, it talks about how God leads the
people not through the land of the philistines but through the wilderness.
Maybe similarly, GOD is allowing the chaotic and hard times in your life so He
can just make you much stronger than what you are now. The people of Israel, in
the later part of their journey wage many wars and win them and only then they
go to the promised land that God gives them. I believe if they had gone out of
Egypt through the land of the philistines, they would have just died there. The
ways that God is allowing you to endure is for the greater good and for showing
a different aspect of God. It will just make you stronger.
There is also another truth to situations like these, say
someone is coming to you and asking you for advice about a very similar
situation that they are going through. If you have not gone through the
situation then I don’t think there is anyway by which you can lead them in the
right way of truth. Your path through the wilderness will not only build you,
but maybe build someone else’s life in the future.
