These are just some of the names of God, not all. We would have heard people preach and teach on these names of God. But today I am not about to preach and teach on the names of God but rather tell you a secret that is hidden in plain sight regarding these names of God. If we pay close attention to the names of God we will find some of the following,

·       Love

·      Peace

·      Mercy

·      Father

·      Recompense

·      Provide

·      Righteousness

·      Joy

·      Truth

·      Help

·      Faith and so on

Most of the time we only focus on God being the above-listed attributes and some others too. Which is so very true but there is also something else. It says in all these that ‘God is’ or ‘God of’ and not ‘God only is’. What does this mean, it means that whenever we exhibit the same characteristic of God to anyone or in any situation we are basically sharing God in that place, we are allowing God to move in that place, we are basically sharing the gospel. Because what is the gospel, it is the good news that there is someone called Jesus who saves us and when we share the attributes of God to others we are showing in real life to the people who this Jesus is and our life is proof of his work in us.

I think we have this mindset that if we are to bring people into salvation we must give tracks or invite them to church or talk about Jesus or have a testimony to share with them. I am not saying that these things shouldn’t be done or is wrong, but what I am saying is that this isn’t the only way or means by which someone can meet Jesus in their life. When we introduce Jesus to people who don’t have the knowledge of Christ for them, everything we say would probably be like Greek and Latin cause the things we say are not the things of this world and it is hard for them to grasp such big concepts into their life and embrace it the way we do.

But what we can do is instead of jumping right into heavenly things, we have to show things like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness and other positive emotions that they can understand with their mind they already have, not in a context of God but in a context of being humane. What I mean is this, we need to show the fruits of the holy spirit without any ‘catch’. Let’s not do good to people and because we want them to come to our church or because there is some sort of satisfaction for us, rather lets show the fruits of the holy spirit as a result of our relationship with Jesus. When we do this, we are essentially introducing God to them but they don’t even know it and when we do this we are introducing Jesus in the most basic and simple form that they can understand.

An example would make this clear for you, let’s say you are going to a college and what I am telling here is to go ahead and do good, share love and joy not necessarily in a context of godly things. But in every possible way, help people who are in need and encourage your friends, give them faith to keep moving ahead because when you do it, you are sowing a seed called God in their life without their knowledge. You just have to sow the seed, the holy spirit will take care of the rest, they not necessarily have to come to your church or come to some gospel meeting, they just have to know Jesus. And the best way to do that is to show the fruits of the spirit in our life because that is what Jesus did on this earth. Once your life starts showing a picture of who Jesus is in everything you do, then that is the best form of the gospel you can share. If we are just about sharing the gospel in terms of words and writing and not in your life, then the very gospel loses its meaning. Because the purpose of having Jesus is to share him with our life to others.

If I have to consolidate the whole blog into 1 line then here it is:

THE CALLING - How to?

Welcome to this blog as I continue the series 'THE CALLING'. In the previous blog, we saw in-depth about what the calling of God is. In this blog, we are going to see how to walk in the calling of god over our lives. Now that we have understood ‘what’ the calling of God is and some of the important things about the calling of God over our lives, let us go to Matthew 7:21, where we saw Jesus saying that doing the will of God is the only way to enter heaven and If we read further, the scriptures say like this: On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’   But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Matthew 7:22-23 Here we see Jesus saying what He meant when He said ‘WILL OF GOD’ in the previous verse. In other terms, Jesus is saying how we are to stand and pursue the calling of God over our lives. In verse 22, Jesus says that just beca...

THE CALLING - Know your enemy

As we are in the journey of learning about ‘the calling’ God has kept over our lives, we need to know about our enemy. The enemy is the one who is always waiting to stop us from doing the will of God in our lives. Therefore, we must have a complete understanding of our enemy and his strategies. This will help us to overcome the oppositions and trials on our way that we may stand in our calling till the end.   Under this topic, I am going to talk, in a practical manner, on what are the things that the devil will bring on our way in the walk with God, how he does that and how to overcome it all. Firstly, let’s look into the solution before we go to the problem, but the truth is that you already know the answer to the problem. Well, if you are wondering what the solution is? The answer is- relationship with God. I have already explained in detail about the various aspects of this relationship we are to have with God. Let me remind you of the 3 things that happen in the relationship w...

WHO WAS DAVID?

In this blog, we will look at David as an example so you get clarity on the 5 aspects of your life. David from the bible is a very interesting person. He was called to be king, which is a huge responsibility. Let’s look into these 5 aspects of David’s life and see how they had an influence in his life in fulfilling the calling God had kept over his life. 1.LIKES       David liked to sing to the lord The book of psalms is evidence to the fact that David loved to sing praises to God.       He liked to hang out with friends The bible records various instances when David and Jonathon meet together.  2.DISLIKES       Blaspheming against God David didn’t like when someone blasphemed against the living God. he just hated it and that is the reason why he went against Goliath in battle.        Disrespecting the Lord’s anointed The Bible repeatedly records David saying to people around him that no one is to kill or ...
